Last Week

Hi everyone,
It was our last week, and last week we had only two lessons. On Monday we examined a short story,Eveline, which is about a girl who experience some family problems. On Friday we had speaking lesson.We made a preparation to speaking exam, and we listened two song which I liked very much.That's all for last week and this week we have final exams ı hope we can pass the exams.After the exams the school will finish for this year. It passed really quickly.Although this year was sometimes difficult, it was really enjoyable and useful for me.At the beginning of this year, when I learned that I couldn't pass the preparation exam, I was very upset to study one more year, but now I can say that I'm happy to study prep. becuse it was very benefical for me.I believe that I improved myself very much, especially in writing.I couldn't write a pharagraph before, but now I can write an essay for five pharagraph.Of course,we all improved ourselves thanks to our teachers.I want thank our teachers for everything, and my new friends I love all of you,take care..

The Last Two Weeks

  Hi friends,
Last week, on Monday we studied the topic of adolescence and we learned a new essay.This essay was classification essay, and it was different from the other essays, because we could only give some important information about a topic in our essays.To be honest, I didn't like this type of essay at all.On Tuesday, we carried on our presentations in grammer lesson. I made a presentation about adverbs. On wednesday I didn't go to school in order to prepare our advertisement.On Thursday we had reading exam.On Friday our teacher, Rebecca, was absent and I continued the advertisement and also we prepared our advertisement all weekend. It was enjoyable, but sometimes it was difficult for me, because I didn't know much about some programs which is necessary for it such as movie maker.In spite of this it was a good experience for me.
  This week, on Monday we learned another essay,argumentative essay.We examined its organization, we lerned its necessary forms,and we read some example essays. I think, reading or writing argumentative essay is more enjoyable than classification essay.On Tuesday we carried on our grammer presentations again and after we finished presentations we watched some of our advertisements.All advertisements were very good but my favorite was the advertisement of Sema's group.I laughed it very much.On wednesday we continued watching advertisements and we talked about it.On Thursday, we studied two short story which was given before and we had a quizz about one of them.I want to say that especially THE LOTTERY was very fascinating.Finally on Friday we watched a film (Groundhog Day) It was a good film and I liked it.

Causes Of Insomnia

  Nowadays many people face with serious problem of sleeplessness called insomnia.This illness can be seen in every age.A lot of people have some difficulties in their daily life because of insomnia.Surely, insomnia has a lot of causes, but there are three main reasons leading to this illness: stress, serios illness and some drugs.
  Firstly, the most important cause of insomnia is stress.This is a very effective factor.For example, unemployed people may not sleep well because they have many economical problems.They always think about these problems so this leads to stress.Also students can have insomnia.For example, before the exam week they may not sleep well because of stress, so stress is one of the main reasons of insomnia.
  Secondly, some serious illnesses can cause insomnia.For example, people who have cancer may not sleep easily because of their illnesses.They suffer from cancer and they always think about their health.In addition, they can not sleep comfortably due to pain or ache.Therefore, some serious illnesses lead to insomnia.
  Lastly, people may not sleep because of drugs.Many people use drugs when they get sick, and most of these drugs have some serious side effects.One of them is insomnia, so some drugs can also affect insomnia.
  In conclusion, many people ignore insomnia and they forget the importance of this illness, but it can cause many difficulties for people, so we should examine the causes of insomnia and take some precautions. Insomnia is a serious illness which shouldn't be taken lightly.

Last Week

Hi everybody,
Last week also passed like other weeks. On Monday, we had a writing lesson and we did a group work. Ayşegül,Metin and me wrote an essay about  Big Marmara Earthquake's effects on people.I think, group works are very useful for us also we can write as a group more effectively and easily.On Tuesday, we had a grammer exam. It was really different exam for grammer lesson because it looked like a reading exam.On Wednesday, we had listening exam which was really difficult. I hope i can take a good grade.On Thursday we had reading lesson and we started a new topic which was about adolescence.We studied about defining of adolescence and physical changes in adolescence.Also we talked about differences between boys and girls in this period.On Friday, we didn't have lesson.

Last Week

 Last week, on Monday we learned a new essay.This essay was cause and effect essay.We read some examples about it in our book.On Tuesday and Wednesday we made presentations.Ms Fulden had asked us to prepare a presentation about debate topics.Alev and I chose the topic of "RACISM".We searched this topic very much and we tried to do our best.While we were searching we learned interesting things.For example in Germany people's ears and noses were measured and some people whose noses and ears were different from the others had to die.Also in America and other countries some people especially black people were tortured because of racism.I think discrimination among people is very bad.Anyway the presentation was good for me and everything went well.Also everybody's presentation were successful.I think we have improved ourselves very much since the first presentation in previous semester. On Thursday we studied reading.Our topic was about stress.We learned last week these things and this week is holiday.Have a good holiday to everyone....:)

This Week

Hi everyone,
This week we started with "Gender and Sexuality" in reading.For me it was an interesting topic again.We learnt that how babies are taught their gender from the moment of birth and how parents behave their children in different ways according to their children's gender. I think in our society and in many others there is a remarkably differentiation between boys and girls.In listening lesson we watched "Armageddon". After we watched the film we discussed about America's domination all over the world.Also we talked about everyday languauge components .On Thursday, we continued the topic of reading.This time, we learnt that  even in fairy-tales there is a obviously discrimination between boys and girls.In fairy-tales beautiful girls are very good person and they needed to protect by handsome man in order to continue their life.I was bewildered when I found out this because I haven't ever thought this deeply.On Friday, we studied with
Ms Rebecca.We read and also made up a Nasreddin Hodja story:).This week we have
many exams.There are many topics to study.I hope, exams pass without any problem.See you....

This Week

Hi Everyone,

Another week passed. I can't realize how weeks pass so quickly.This week we started with reading lesson.We continued with chapter3 from hot topics.The topic was interesting again.(Fertility Now) I like the subjects of "Hot Topics" because we learn interesting things while we are reading so it comes to me enjoyable.On Tuesday,we had grammer lesson and we had a quiz.On Wednesday,we had listening lesson.We presented our interview about extreme sports which we had prepared before.On Thursday, we had writing lesson.We talked about comparison and contrast essay. It came to me a little bit complicated but as I write, I think that I can understand better.On Friday we watched SHREK with Ms.Rebecca.For me friday was

the most enjoyable and relaxing day.Because I like very much Shrek's films.On saturday I went  shopping and I bought some things for myself :) Finally on Sunday,that is, now I'm doing my homeworks.Sundays is a day for me  doing homework.
